• Prime responsibility for FAA Part Manufacturing Approvals relating to materials and processing for HEICO-Jet Avion Co.

• Prime responsibilities for materials and processing involved in the Power Systems Mfg. land-based frame 7EA, 6B, 9E, 7FA, 501F and 501D combustor and airfoil components.

• Author of United States Patent Number 6,089,828, ‘Coated Article and Method For Inhibiting Frictional Wear Between Mating Titanium Alloy Substrates In A Gas Turbine Engine.’ 

• Author of United States Patent Number 6,675,584 B1, ‘Coated Seal Article Used In Turbine Engines.’ 

• Author of United States Patent Number 6,912,838 B2. 'Coated Cross-Fire Tube Assembly.'

Who We Are

President and Chief Engineer - Terry Hollis

B.S. Metallurgical Engineering, University of Illinois, 1979

20 years experience with OEM companies, Pratt & Whitney and General Electric, as a Materials and Process Engineering specialist, including Design Metallurgy.  OEM responsibilities included resolving engineering problems involving strength, oxidation, corrosion, high pressure hydrogen exposure, heat treating, forming, coatings, platings, hardfacing, and joining methods such as welding, brazing and diffusion bonding.  He provided materials engineering liaison and support to manufacturing, suppliers, and the customer for processing/rework/repair required for new and used components.  Mr. Hollis reviewed and approved engineering layouts and drawings for materials and processes to assure materials/manufacturing integrity of gas turbine and rocket engine components.   This is the kind of hands-on experience Mr. Hollis provides.

Mr. Hollis also has 12+ years experience with industry leading aerospace and land-based turbine aftermarket manufacturers HEICO Aerospace and Power Systems Mfg. 

Mr. Hollis has also provided expert witness assistance for metallurgical legal matters.
